Letting customers into service bay area creates insurance liability (www.clearmechanic.com/blog)

Insurance expert Daryl Allegree writes about the risks associated with letting customers see their vehicles in the shop bay area.  For those service-oriented shops that show car owners what repairs are being performed (in the spirit of transparency we support), but who are concerned about the legal and insurance risks documented by Allegree, ClearMechanic is a strong alternative.

Additionally, shops that typically let customers see their vehicles up on the lift should consider providing a similar experience to off-site customers through ClearMechanic.   Recall that, nationally, 80% of car repair customers drop their cars off rather than wait in the shop.
